How to Look Up Farm Subsidy Payments in Your County
March 21, 2026
Whether you're a journalist researching agricultural policy, a landowner curious about your neighbors, or a farmer checking your own records, SubsidyLookup makes it easy to navigate USDA payment data down to the county level.
Step 1: Start with a state
Go to the state index and click your state. You'll see a summary of total USDA assistance by fiscal year, plus a breakdown by program.
Step 2: Drill into a county
From any state page, click Browse counties to see a ranked list of counties by total payments. Click a county to see its payment history and top recipients.
Step 3: Filter by program
Every state and county page lets you filter by CFDA program. The program index lists all assistance programs by CFDA number and title. Clicking a program from a state or county page shows only payments from that program in that geography.
Step 4: Look up a recipient
Named recipients (farms, corporations, and partnerships where privacy rules allow) appear in the recipient index. Each profile shows total lifetime payments, a year-by-year breakdown, and the programs they've participated in.
Step 5: Search by keyword
If you already know a farm name or company, use full-text search to jump straight to results. The search covers recipient names and program titles.
Year filtering
All data is organized by federal fiscal year (October 1 – September 30). Use the year index to compare totals across years or isolate a single fiscal year's payments.
